The Bakels Utility Cake Mix is a versatile mix for traditional pound cake with excellent fresh-keeping qualities. Recipe variations available for slices, bars and muffins that can easily be deposited by hand or savoy bag. It is very similar to the Bakels Buttacake but without the butter flavour.
Yield: Makes 8" Round x 3" High Cake or 24-28 Regular Cupcakes
Method: Preheat oven to 160 degrees (standard fan forced oven). Line baking tin. Add 1kg Utility Cake Mix, 4 x 70g eggs, 375ml of water to a mixing bowl and mix on low speed for 1 minute, scrape down sides of bowl. Mix on medium for 5 minutes. Mix on low speed for 2 minutes. Pour into lined baking pan and bake until skewer comes out clean (Start checking at 45 minutes for 8" round and 18 mins for cupcakes). Allow to cool in pan and then upturn onto a cooling rack
